Mancy agricultural college

Welcome to the Lycée Agricole Mancy web pages. Throughout these pages visitors will have the opportunity to catch a glimpse of what is our school, what we are doing and teaching, how serious but friendly is the school.
Though being an agricultural school, the school is located on the verge of the city of Lons le Saunier, Jura. In fact, it overlooks the city. Lons le Saunier is a city of about 20,000 inhabitants, set in a rural district. The city gained its name from… the salt as a saulnier in French is the person who collect salt. Today, for most of us it may seems a bit strange to collect salt in a part so far away from the sea, but believe it or not there is plenty of salt in the area (though salt is no longer collected because it’s too expensive. There is a large wooden park with different sorts of nut trees and other species. We have two main fields of competences in the school : equine studies and development of services in rural areas.
There are about 360 students and apprentices, most of them are girls. Most of the students stay at the boarding school. Before going through the pages why don’t you take a look at the photo gallery ?
